Good Design Feels Like Something

Another NeoCon in the books. Three days at The Mart, surrounded by the people and ideas shaping the future of the built environment.

For Duvaltex, NeoCon has long been part of how we show up for the A&D community. This year, we were part of the METROPOLIS Sustainability Lab, now in its sixth year, and one of the most credible material destinations in the industry. The theme was “Good is Fun”: a reminder that responsible design and creative joy aren’t in tension. The best sustainable materials don’t ask you to compromise. They ask you to reach for them.

We brought Nest and Cocoon

Touch First. Ask Questions Later.

Nest and Cocoon are part of the A Gentle Place collection, made under our Clean Impact Textiles® brand. Both are crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester, biodegradable*, and engineered for commercial seating in demanding environments, such as hotels, offices, and hospitality settings.

Nest has the quiet weight of slate and stone. Its two-tone surface catches light without chasing it, grounding a room without overpowering it.

Cocoon is luminously soft, with a subtle shimmer that shifts as the light moves. Pale yellows, cloudy greys, warm creams, with unexpected accents that keep a space feeling alive. Warmth, translated into fabric.

At the Lab, both did exactly what great materials do. People touched them first. Then they asked questions.

Made to Last. Made to Leave.

Nest and Cocoon earned their place in this year’s Sustainability Lab not only because of what they’re made of, but because of what happens at the end of their life. They hold their quality through years of commercial use, and then biodegrade gracefully, returning to the earth rather than adding to it.

For spaces pursuing certifications like LEED or WELL, or simply committed to making more responsible choices, these textiles carry the documentation needed to support those goals while keeping the process simple.

If you encountered Nest or Cocoon in Chicago and want to bring them into a project, the next steps are simple.
